I am M.ª Leonor Costa, a poetry and creative writing author, known as Nonô.
I write to give shape to emotions and share them with those who recognise themselves in them.
My writing emerges from observation and sensitivity, where emotion becomes language and words take shape.
Over more than ten years of an active literary journey, I have published poetry, performed public readings, and developed a literary path centred on expression, encounter, and transformation through writing.
Currently, my practice expands into different narrative forms, including short stories and novels, exploring the relationship between histórias and estórias — an old word in the Portuguese language that preserves the dual dimension of lived and imagined storytelling.
My work also includes writing experiences and performative formats, reflecting writing as a living practice and a space of sharing.
I have a particular focus on feminine writing, addressing themes such as voice, resilience, and lived experience, as well as the connection between individual and collective stories.
Through poetry and narrative, I seek to create connection, reflection, and awareness, understanding literature as a space of human and emotional resonance.

📖 Literary Influences
My writing exists within an ongoing dialogue with diverse literary voices, intersecting poetry, narrative, and thought.
In poetry, I resonate with authors such as Eugénio de Andrade, Natália Correia, and Herberto Helder, particularly for their sensory and imagetic intensity.
In narrative, I draw inspiration from Mia Couto, José Saramago, and Italo Calvino, for their creation of singular literary worlds.
Writing in the feminine finds resonance in authors such as Clarice Lispector, Florbela Espanca, and Virginia Woolf.
The philosophical dimension of writing connects me to Fernando Pessoa, Rainer Maria Rilke, and Matsuo Bashō.
🚧 Projects in Development
My literary practice is in constant expansion, exploring new forms of expression and crossing writing with different artistic dimensions.
I am currently developing projects that integrate poetry, narrative, and performative experience, as well as initiatives focused on sharing and exploring writing as a space for creation and transformation.
At the same time, I am working on new works of fiction and authorial projects, deepening different voices and narrative universes.
